Data‑Management Plans and DS Wizard

A DMP (data‑management plan) is a document that describes how research data will be handled during a project/research. A DMP should be a “living” document that is continuously updated to reflect what actually happens to the data.

Why create a DMP

helps anticipate potential problems
verifies that all necessary equipment and support are in place
reduces the risk of duplicated work, data loss and security breaches
guarantees that data are accurate, complete, precise and reliable
facilitates data sharing
ensures continuity of long‑term projects (e.g., when doctoral students rotate) and consistency across multi‑author projects
meets the requirements of funders (e.g., AZV, GA ČR, Horizon Europe and others)

FNUSA Network and Cloud Storage

External Professional Storage

Archiving and Sharing Data

Long‑term archiving and sharing can be performed in discipline‑specific repositories, taking into account the sensitivity of the data. Examples include OpenNeuro, Vivli for clinical studies, and many others. We can advise on repository selection and legal issues together with colleagues from Biostatistics, the Legal Department and the DPO. If no discipline‑specific repository exists for your data, you may also use our community repository on Zenodo.
