HR Excellence in Research initial award
ICRC received the European Commission "HR Excellence in Research" award, recognizing implementation of the Charter & Code for researchers and a transparent, fair recruitment policy.

November
OTM-R policy adopted
Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment policy formally adopted across all hiring streams, with anonymized CV review and structured competency assessments.

June
3-year award renewal
EC renewed the HR Excellence in Research award after successful interim assessment — independent reviewers confirmed sustained progress in researcher career development.

March
Gender Equality Plan published
ICRC published its institutional Gender Equality Plan covering recruitment, work-life balance, leadership representation and research content dimensions — a Horizon Europe eligibility requirement.

September
Award extended to 2030
Following the second external evaluation, the EC extended the HR Excellence in Research award for another 5 years — recognizing continued institutional commitment to researchers' working conditions.
